The federal election has been announced for June 28th. 

Now is a prime opportunity to inform and sensitize your local 
candidates of all parties about the invaluable contributions our
museums and galleries make to our communities.

In partnership with the Canadian Museums Association (CMA), your 
BC
Museums Association is pleased to forward the attached "Election
Readiness Backgrounder", including museum facts, outreach ideas 
and
suggested questions for candidates.

Despite BCMA-L's "no attachments" policy, we are circulating this
special Word document so that you will be able to copy-and-paste or
otherwise incorporate this important information easily into Letters
to the Editor, email or correspondence with local candidates, call-in
shows, flyers, speaker notes for "all candidates forums" or any other
application.

You will also find this information valuable for your current and
upcoming funding applications, newsletters and brochures.

We urge you to be active, to question and to speak up. This is a
critical time for our museums and galleries.

We also invite you to use BCMA-L to post ways in which you have 
used this information and to share and compare responses you have
received.
