            WCRA APPOINTS DON EVANS PRESIDENT & CEO**

For Immediate Release:

Vancouver, BC. December 12, 2007 - The West Coast Railway Association’s 
(WCRA) Board of Directors announces the appointment of Donald J. Evans 
(Don) to the new position of President and Chief Executive Officer. In 
this position, he will be responsible for all operations of the 
association and its activities, reporting to the WCRA’s Board of Directors.

The WCRA has grown quickly over the past several years and today 
operates two railway heritage ventures, the West Coast Railway Heritage 
Park at Squamish, BC and the Locomotive 374 Pavilion at the Roundhouse 
Community Centre in Vancouver’s Yaletown area. WCRA also operates West 
Coast Rail Tours in Burnaby, BC and several other support activities, 
all of which directly support the core charitable purpose of the 
association, “Preserving British Columbia’s Railway Heritage”.

Don has held many volunteer and staff positions with WCRA for over 25 
years, most recently being the WCRA’s Executive Director. Colin Smith, 
WCRA’s Board Chair notes, “Don’s knowledge of the WCRA over the years 
and his vision for the future, along with his strong business acumen and 
passion for railway heritage, make him the ideal selection to take the 
WCRA forward to becoming a leading railway heritage attraction in all of 
North America”.

The West Coast Railway Heritage Park is home to Western Canada’s largest 
heritage railway collection, including the world famous Royal Hudson 
steam locomotive. The 12-acre destination attraction is open year round, 
and hosts 40,000 guest visits annually. A new Roundhouse and Conference 
Centre is currently under construction as the third phase of development 
at the Squamish site.
