We are trying to date a photo - or rather, exclude dates in which it =
could not have possibly been taken. This photo in our archives of the KC =
Preservative Works (jam factory), was built by the Doukhobors in =
Brilliant BC. Originally, it was thought that this particular photo =
would have had to have been prior to 1927, as it was generally accepted =
(until now) that the appearance of a second exhaust smoke stack didn't =
happen until after the 1927 upgrades at the factory. (The original photo =
shows only one smoke stack).
However, a clue found on the photo by scanning at a very high =
resolution, reveals an automobile, perhaps of the early 30's vintage. If =
the age of the automobile is in fact of a 1930's vintage, then it stands =
to reason that this particular photo is newer than 1927.
Would it be possible to display this car photo in case there are car =
buffs out there who might be able to identify the year (or approximate =
year) of this automobile. From there, we could ascertain that the second =
smoke stack at the jam factory was not added in 1927 as previously =
thought, but sometime after.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you might be able to offer in =
solving this, another 'Doukhobor Mystery'.
If we are not allowed to post this, perhaps interested car folk could =
get in touch w/ me and I will send you the jpg.
