There is a lady in town who is desperately trying to find a home for her
1855 Broadwood Square Grand Piano. We cannot accept it at our museum. =
She
requested that I post it on the listserv for her. I have a photograph, =
which
I can forward to interested parties off-list, as well as a letter from =
the
manufacturer, which I have excerpted here, with blanks for potentially
confidential info:

=93Dear Madam,

We thank you for your letter =85 relative to the Broadwood Square =
pianoforte
No.                   in your possession which we find from our records =
was
manufactured by us leaving our factory on the                       , =
1855.
It is described in our files as the Improved Superior Design with Full =
Frets
and Long Hinge, with Long Bass Bar and retailed at that time for 65 =
guineas.
=85. Over a period of 90 years or so we manufactured nearly 80,000 =
Square
instruments. Yours faithfully, John Broadwood & Sons Ltd. Sales Office,
