Heritage Week 2007 at the Cowichan Valley Museum & Archives

On Friday, February 23, the Cowichan Valley Museum & Archives will offer =
a Heritage Walking Tour of Downtown Duncan to celebrate Heritage Week =
2007.  Duncan's downtown core is rich in history and there is still much =
evidence of this in its built environment.  After the arrival of the =
railway in 1886, a small village called "Duncan's Station" (also known =
as Alderlea) was established on a corner of W.C. Duncan's land.  By =
1912, the incorporated City of Duncan had become a major distribution =
centre for commerce and resources in the Cowichan Valley. =20

The tour begins at 1:00 p.m. and will last approximately one hour.  =
Please call (250) 746-6612 or email cvmuseum.archives@shaw.ca to =
register.  Admission is by donation.  Please meet in front of the Museum =
located in the Duncan Train Station on Canada Avenue, between Station =
and Kenneth Streets.

The Cowichan Valley Museum & Archives, a non-profit organization owned =
