Join the Cultural Resource Management Program at the University of Victoria for the following dynamic learning opportunity:
Measuring Performance, a six-day immersion experience from March 12 to 17, 2007 explores the nature and scope of institutional accountability, along with practical ways in which museums, arts, and cultural leaders and professionals can implement performance measures to enhance all aspects of organizational effectiveness.
You will be exposed to a variety of frameworks for thinking about organization and performance measurement systems that strengthen your understanding of and capacity to:
* address the benefits and impacts that performance measurement has on organizational change and advancement
* focus on strategic outcomes, inclusive of leadership, employees and influential stakeholders
* leverage opportunities for advancement and organizational success
* develop measurement rubrics and processes specifically designed for your programs and activities.
Through a comprehensive review of "best practices" from industry, government, NGOs, and the not-for-profit sectors, with emphasis on arts and cultural organizations, this course will explore methodologies and practices to translate visions and strategies into action and results.
Instructors: Paul Richard, founder of smallExhibits.com, Inc., works with museums throughout the United States helping them to develop successful organization, program and exhibition strategies and Larry Lad is Associate Professor of Management in the College of Business Administration at Butler University.
Fee: $610, including a $60 materials fee (Canadian funds, credit and non-credit participation options.) A CDN$160 registration deposit is required with each registration form.
