JOB SUMMARY:
Duties include: generating and inputting data; checking inventory lists and
attaching bar-code labels to objects; generating and inputting object
accessioning data into limited set of database fields; performing care and
handling of museum artefacts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduation plus one year of related experience. Knowledge of
proper collections handling processes and some training in museum studies,
including knowledge of accessioning processes. Knowledge of the relevant
professional standards for object handling and preventative conservation.
Some familiarity working with object database programs required. Awareness
and sensitivity to issues concerning collections originating from First
Nations and other communities preferred. Computer experience required.
Effective oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational
skills.
