The Vernon Art Gallery is seeking a skilled and dynamic Executive Director
to advance the mission and objectives of the organization. Responsibilities
include planning, organizing and directing programs within the Gallery, as
well as administration of the daily operations. Primary duties of the
full-time position include but are not limited to:
- Reports to the Board of Directors on Gallery operations and sitting on
Board committees as required. Supervising the secretarial function including
keeping Board minutes, providing security for records; and maintaining
administrative files, legal and historical documents
- Prepares and supervises financial planning, including the annual budget
and then managing and operating within the budget.
- Researches opportunities for grant monies and ensures that applications
are completed and submitted. Pursues funding as required for operational
and staffing applications. Promotes and assists in finding exhibitions
sponsorship.
- Ensures the presentation of professional exhibitions and programs.
Oversees management and security of collections
- Manages the maintenance and security of the physical plant
- Manages all publicity and public relations.
- Manages staff and volunteers - including recruitment and retention
-Caetani - Manages ongoing Caetani House operations.
Requirements Include:
- Post-secondary diploma in administration / management (or equivalent job
experience).
- Preferably a minimum of three years experience in a senior management
position.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of the non-profit grant application process.
- Marketing experience would be an asset.
