The Art Gallery of the South Okanagan and Get Bent Belly Dance is proud =
to present The Mystical Art of Belly Dance on Saturday July 14 starting =
at 7:30 p.m. at the Art Gallery of the South Okanagan, 199 Marina Way, =
Penticton, BC. Tickets are $12.00 and are available at the door.

(Penticton, British Columbia) -  The Art Gallery of the South Okanagan =
is proud to present a fundraiser for the Mystical Arts of Tibet =
featuring two troupes exploring two unique styles and traditions.=20

The Get Bent Belly Dancers from Penticton feature a unique and =
entertaining belly dance style that is well suited to large events and =
stage productions such as "PULSE - The Spirit of Rhythm & Dance". Their =
unique fusion of Indian and Ethno styles combines traditional dances, =
solos, zill and veil routines; however, they are most known for their =
group dances that blend Middle Eastern, East Indian and hip-hop styles. =
These high-energy dances are their trademark, and they regularly dance =
to top-40 Middle Eastern dance  music and India's Bollywood hits. =
Further touched by the Indian influence, Get Bent's costumes often =
feature the beautiful bright colours, lavish jewelry and accessories of =
India's style.

As one of the first tribal groups in Canada, Vancouver's Belly Belly Hip =
is well known throughout the lower mainland for their wonderful Tribal =
Style Belly Dance performances and workshops. Their tribal style evolved =
out of the age-old tradition of community-oriented dance. It is danced =
within a group context, incorporating both spontaneous lead-and-follow =
steps and choreography.  The movements form a common language whose =
vocabulary continues to evolve. Steps tend to be more structured than in =
other forms of bellydance, to facilitate seamless co-operative dance. =
Costumes are varied but earthy in decoration. Common accessories are =
fringed hip scarves, ethnic jewelry, and shisha mirrors.
