French traditional music at the Chinatown Arts & Cultural Festival**

Celebrate French National Day at “Bastille Day” in the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen 
Garden Courtyard on July 14 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Chinatown Arts & 
Cultural Festival has partnered with Alliance Francaise to invite the 
professional band “ Les Bleus de Chauffe” to hold a mini concert in the 
courtyard. They will delight audiences with traditional standards from 
the French jazz repertoire, Gypsy swing and musette, as well as original 
compositions.

In addition to enjoying the lively music, visitors can browse the skills 
and products of local artists and craftspeople. There are also riddles 
and games for the family. Admission is free to the Festival.

The Festival is organized by Carnegie Community Centre, Chinese Cultural 
Centre of Greater Vancouver, Powell Street Festival Society, Dr. Sun 
Yat-Sen Classical Garden, Vancouver Chinatown Revitalization Committee, 
and Vancouver Chinatown BIA Society in partnership with Alliance 
Francaise, Kathara Dance Theatre and Vancouver Moving Theatre and with
