*REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST for PUBLIC ART PROJECT:*

*Cardington Apartments*

The John Howard Society with support from BC Housing and the Public Art
Committee of the City of Kelowna is seeking Expressions of Interest from
artists of all disciplines to design, fabricate and install one or more
public art features in a 30-unit supportive housing development known as
‘Cardington Apartments’ to be built at 1436 St. Paul Street in downtown
Kelowna.

One artist, or a team of artists, will receive a commission to create a
permanent art installation which provides an artistic expression of the
theme ‘Icons of Inspiration.’ The public art will enhance not only the
aesthetic and public appeal of the building, but will also promote a
sense of motivation, pride and belonging for the residents.

The total budget for the public art project is a maximum of $30,000.00.
Expressions of Interest must be submitted in a prescribed format by 4:00
pm (Pacific), Friday, July 20, 2007 to Jim Meiklejohn, Meiklejohn
