There will be an exciting heritage event in Victoria, later this spring.
You might wish to bring it to the attention of your membership or
associates.
For Thursday, May 10th, we are organising a one-day symposium entitled:
“*Heritage and Tourism — Compatibility or Conflict?*”
It will be open to interested residents of greater Victoria as well as
participants at a related, province-wide conference. There is to be a
series of short, table presentations by high-profile panelists and open
discussions on various aspects of the theme.
There will be a fee of $30 (BC Seniors & Full-time Students: $25) for
the full series and registration is recommended. Participation in the
symposium is included in the conference registration.
The symposium will precede the 2007 annual conference of the BC
Historical Federation. The Victoria Historical Society and the Old
Cemeteries Society are co-hosting both events, which will take place at
the Harbour Towers on Quebec Street at Oswego.
Full details of the topics and panelists, and registration form are
posted on the BCHF website: www.bchistory.ca/conf.html
