Twin Lights in the Night Tour Shines on AGSO

Rodney DeCroo and Cam Penner bring their Twin Lights in the Night Tour to=20
the Art Gallery of the South Okanagan, 199 Marina Way, Penticton, at 7 pm=20
on Sunday, May 13.

Rodney DeCroo hails from working man=92s country, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania=
=20
(picture The Deer Hunter). A devout and hard-working family, the DeCroos=20
came to Canada when Rodney=92s father decided not to re-up for a second tour=
=20
of Vietnam.

Musically, Rodney has garnered comparisons to Bob Dylan, John Prine and=20
Neil Young. He has shared the stage with such respected Canadian acts as=20
Sam (Be Good Tanyas) Parton, Cuff The Duke, Old Reliable, Herald Nix, Geoff=
=20
Berner and Corb Lund.

When he=92s not touring, he=92s recording ...and sometimes he=92s doing=
 both.=20
Rodney=92s second CD on Northern Electric, War Torn Man, is dedicated to his=
=20
father, and was recorded on tour at Edmonton=92s legendary Sidetrack. The CD=
=20
captures Rodney in his natural element =96 on stage and on the road. War=
 Torn=20
Man has received rave reviews across Canada, the US and Europe.

At eighteen Cam Penner left the prairies and made his way south to Chicago.=
=20
While living there he ran a soup kitchen and started working with the=20
homeless. He moved back to Canada, where he continued working with the=20
homeless at various shelters, soup kitchens, and detox centres. Now a full=
=20
time musician and songwriter, Cam carries with him these life experiences=20
as he embarks on his musical journey.

Cam Penner sings unvarnished, tale-telling songs of misguided love, endless=
=20
nights and long hauls through the prairies. Cam (guitar, harmonica, vocals)=
=20
has been penning these kinds of songs for the last ten years. Songs about=20
real people, real situations, sufferin=92 and laughin=92, and laughin=92 at=
 your=20
sufferin=92 kinda songs. These are songs inspired by rolling fields, vast=20
skies, the long road home and cold, Canadian nights.

Cam has been focusing his attention on writing and touring as a solo=20
artist. He has also, ironically, found himself homeless. After sinking the=
=20
rest of his savings and the money he made from selling his house into his=20
album, Felt Like a Sunday Night, he has been on the road. During the last=20
year, Cam has toured in the UK three times, including Ireland & Scotland.=20
He also spent three months in London, booking himself over twenty shows=20
during his stay. Cam also toured through California and Nevada and spent=20
the summer touring across Western Canada with his band, The Gravel Road.

Tickets for the Rodney DeCroo and Cam Penner May 13th concert are available=
=20
at the Art Gallery of the South Okanagan; $10 for Gallery members and=20
students, or $15 for non-members. Tickets are limited to 50, so please=20
reserve yours in advance. To arrange a media interview, reserve tickets, or=
=20
for more information, please contact Paul Crawford at the Art Gallery of=20
the South Okanagan, (250) 493-2928.
