We also did not receive funding this year. We were put onto the B –list 
for funding, and when I spoke with Service Canada in Kelowna, we did not 
receive sufficient points according to the funding formulae listed in 
the applicant guide. Each region made its own decisions for funding, and 
I was told there was no negotiation for length of funding in this area. 
That is, if we asked for 16 weeks, there was no negotiation to be funded 
for 14 or 12 weeks, you either got funding, or you didn’t.

I pointed out that it seems unusual that some museums/heritage 
organizations received funding for up to 6 students, while we did not 
receive the one we requested. My understanding from the conversation I 
had was that most of the money in this area this year went to 
environmental programs.

Now how an environmental program got money from YCW in Heritage 
Organizations, I don’t know.
