Chilliwack History Comes to Life

The Chilliwack Museum and Archives is pleased to announce the publication of
The Chilliwack Story. The 368 page hard cover book looks at the people,
places and events that have shaped the identity of this Fraser Valley city.
The book is available for $39.95 (shipping charges are extra) from the
museum.

Chilliwack is recognized as a community of villages. These villages and the
road system that tied them together provide the framework for the book.
Serious articles and sometimes quirky, whimsical pieces are interlaced
throughout the text, reflecting the nature of the community over time -
conservative yet not without its idiosyncrasies.

Community historians were consulted, and in some cases provided written
material, throughout the process of creating the book. Each article includes
a photograph from the extensive collection of the Chilliwack Archives. The
book was edited by museum and archives Director Ron Denman while a copy
editor and designer ensured continuity and a uniform design throughout the
book.

Copies may be ordered by contacting the museum. Ordering information is
available from the museum's website at www.chilliwack.museum.bc.ca
<http://www.chilliwack.museum.bc.ca/> or phoning 604-795-5210.
