The Kamloops Art Gallery is once again overjoyed with the spectacular and
exceedingly generous support of donating artists from across this land who
have donated works of art to make this year's Annual Art Auction Exhibition
one of the strongest yet. The exhibition runs from September 30 to October
13, 2007, in the main gallery and culminates with the always popular Art
Auction Gala on October 13, the Gallery's most important fundraising event.
Almost one hundred artists have donated to this year's exhibition, with
approximately two thirds of those living in our region. The exhibition is a
superb opportunity for the public to get a sense of the remarkable talent we
have in our own backyard, and to study the diverse and eclectic styles and
mediums of the works in this exhibition. It's also an opportunity for those
who intend to be at the Auction Gala to preview the artwork they may want to
bid on. In addition to the artwork, wonderful retail packages and thrilling
adventure packages, which highlight the wonders of British Columbia, are on
display and up for bids.
Some of the better known national artists include Barbara Astman, Robert
Bateman, Bill Burns, Edward Epp, Eric Metcalfe, Daphne Odjig, George Raab
and Jayce Salloum, and from the local area Werner Braun, Frances Harris,
Terry Hill, Ann Kipling, David Langevin, Marie Scott, Ted Smith, and
returning best seller Tricia Sellmer.
Regular gallery admission fees apply to the exhibition, and tickets for the
Gala are $45, available at The Gallery Store. The Art Auction Exhibition is
sponsored by Interior Savings Credit Union.
