On Saturday, October 27th, 2007, Hatley Park National Historic Site and Royal Roads University will celebrate Hallowe'en in style by hosting an historically-interpretive, gourmet Hallowe'en Mystery Dinner Theatre event - THE SINISTER SECRET OF HATLEY CASTLE - at western Canada's premiere Scottish Baronial-style mansion, Hatley Castle.

The Sinister Secret of Hatley Castle is an historically-themed, Hallowe'en-inspired, espionage thriller set at Hatley Castle in 1939 - one year after the Dunsmuir estate sale of June 1938, and one year before the war-time purchase of Hatley Park by Canada's Department of National Defence.

The characters involved will be fictional, but the story will be grounded in both factual and anecdotal information culled from the true history of Hatley Park.

There will be elements of murder, robbery, blackmail, treachery, double-cross, reversal-of-fortune, mystery, suspense, drama, comedy, romance, music, sword-play and more!

Audience participation is encouraged, but will not be required.

The Sinister Secret of Hatley Castle will be revealed between 7 pm and 10 pm on Saturday, October 27th, 2007. The Castle doors will open at 6 pm. Dinner will be served throughout; it is a three course, 1930s inspired meal, with several choices of appetizer, main, and desserts. Coffee, tea and water will be included.

There will be a no-host bar.

Come and see our jaw-dropping, swashbuckling finale, as the mystery is solved and the criminals are revealed!

Tickets are $79 per person, plus GST.

Seating is limited so reserve early!

STARRING: Charles Ross, Laura Harris, Peter Abrahams, Graham Croft, Danielle Janess, Kaitlin Williams, Scott Hendrickson, Willie Kuklis, Andrew Hamilton, and Danette Boucher.
