Canadian Heritage under the Museum Assistance program to deliver an
Archives Bootcamp style workshop to the community of Maple Ridge and its

Archives Consultant - Public Education Program
Maple Ridge Historical Society Background
The Maple Ridge Historical Society is a not-for-profit registered
charity that provides Heritage Services to the community of Maple Ridge.
It operates two museums, a community archives and three other heritage
buildings. The MRHS was the successful recipient of a Museums Assistance
Program Grant to complete a project that will see an enhancement in the
organizational capacity of our Community Archives operation.
The Maple Ridge Museum and Community Archives is seeking an experienced
Archivist/Archival Consultant/s to provide training and development in a
workshop setting to Maple Ridge Museum and Community Archives staff,
volunteers and other community partners.
Project Deliverables – Public Education Program Generation
Public Education Program Generation:
Create or amend a program that will give basic/core competencies to a
wide variety of community members and organization representatives
working with archival materials throughout the lower mainland.
The consultant will retain rights to the program content.
Public Education Program Delivery:
Deliver a 2 day session that is engaging, relevant and dynamic.
Delivery date in early December or late January.
Public Education Program Follow-up:
The consultant will deliver a completion survey at the end of the workshop.
The consultant will provide a survey that can be sent to participants
2-3 months after program completion.
The total budget for this phase of the project can be no more than
$5000.00 inclusive of travel.
