Island Mountain Arts is a non-profit arts organization based in Wells, 
BC (80 km East of Quesnel.) We operate a summer school of the arts, 
International Celtic Harp School, public gallery and gift shop and the 
annual ArtsWells Festival of All Things Art.

We are currently seeking applications from motivated, creative 
individuals to fill our summer staff positions as follows. (All

*Summer Gallery Program Manager:*

Job Description: Student will facilitate IMA's annual summer Public Art 
Gallery program in conjunction with its summer School of the Arts and 
ArtsWells Festival. Assist in organizing and facilitating Art School and 
ArtsWells Festival related events at the gallery, such as receptions, 
artists' talks, concerts and performances, workshops, readings, and 
barbeques. Work with artists and assist with curation and hanging of 
exhibits and displays. Research/solicit new works for gift shop, liaise 
with artisans, manage gift shop consignment, do daily cashout and 
housekeeping. Assist in the preparation of press releases and other 
marketing strategies. Greet and provide assistance to gallery/gift shop 
visitors. Assist with all aspects of daily office duties such as 
answering phones, emails, filing, photocopying, etc., and other duties 
as assigned.

Job Description: Student will manage all aspects of the annual Summer 
School of the Arts course registrations including processing payments, 
creating welcome packages, and providing accommodation/travel 
information. Assist in managing the summer school facility: prepare 
classrooms, assist with school canteen, and work with instructors and 
students to ensure a positive experience. Assist with coordinating 
welcome receptions and other summer school events. Assist with the 
delivery of ArtsWells workshops and related events. Assist with all 
aspects of daily office duties such as answering phones, emails, filing, 
photocopying, etc., and other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

    * Student will assist in all aspects of course registrations and
      information requests: process payments, maintain registration binder;
    * Assist in managing the IMA database: process information requests,
      registrations, memberships, donations, and reporting on all
      related information;
    * Assist in managing the Wells-Barkerville School facility for the
      duration of the Summer School: liaise with instructors and
      students, ensure facility access, provide supplies and equipment,
      prepare (and tear-down) classrooms for workshop use;
    * Maintain Canteen: deliver supplies, manage inventory, daily
      cleaning, collect donations; Prepare, deliver, collect and
      tabulate the student course evaluations;
    * Manage IMA- outreach and communications, including:
      o Create Student Welcome Packages
      o Coordinate student Welcome Receptions;
      o Coordinate student afternoon excursions (Barkerville, hiking,
      canoeing tours);

- Compile and layout information for the festival program guide

- Create in-house posters to promote to local community

- Update “How-to” manual with new information.

- Update Corporate sponsorship Proposal

- Complete final Festival marketing resources that can be used to guide

Job Description: Participant will:

    * Develop ways in which ArtsWells can work with the greater
      community of Wells: Liaise with local committee(s) re details of
      the event, e.g. Chamber of Commerce, Special Events and Economic
      Development Committee; Facilitate meetings with community members
      (group and one-on-one meetings)
    * Research and develop ways to co-market with Barkerville, Bowron
      Lakes- Work with ArtsWells Artists: Liase with artists and develop
      bios, Compile information for festival program, Liaise with
      performers and community members in order to develop story lines
      for press releases and articles
    * Generate and maintain positive image of IMA and ArtsWells in the
      community, provide input and collect feedback
    * Liaise with regional organizations (i.e. Billy Barker Days
      Festival, Bulkley Valley Music Festival etc.); Create database of
      Community Organizations info (i.e. schedule of events and
      meetings, projects, contacts)
    * Update mailing list, collect members through initiatives (such as
      contests or link on website)
    * Liaise with media and give interviews on behalf of the festival
    * Maintain relevant information in Database
    * Prepare a complete report on 2008 Festival including
      recommendations for 2009.
    * Update “How-to” manual with new information.
