Summer Work Available

The brand new Abbotsford Cultural Centre is looking for a summer student to
carry out a number of exhibit duties as an Exhibit Technician. The new
cultural centre consisting of an art gallery, museum, archive,
studio/classrooms and gift shop will be opening in September of 2008 and is
looking for a summer student who is eligible to work under a YCW grant to
assist the exhibition committee in historical research, artifact
identifcation and display work for the inaugral exhibit with a special
exphasis on First Nation's history. 

The cultural centre is the newest addition to the museum and art gallery
scene in BC and boasts a state of the art building in the heart of the City
of Abbotsford. In partnership with the City of Abbotsford, the Cultural
Centre will champion the preservation and display of Abbotsford’s
multi-faceted history and the preservation of the social heritage of our
community.  The Cultural Centre will be acting as both a catalyst and
promoter of Abbotsford’s unique local history and an exhibitor and educator
of local and other fine arts.  The facility includes a local archive which
provides services to local, genealogical and research communities.

The position will start as soon as possible and requires an organized
self-starter who can hit the road running and not look back.  If you would
