EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Title: Warden (Property Maintenance), Vancouver Island/Coast Region

Location: Victoria

Start Date: March 31st, 2008 or ASAP

OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

The Warden - Property Maintenance will provide maintenance of TLC properties in the region, including building and landscape maintenance. The Warden will work with other members of the Regional Team to carry out their duties, and report to the Regional Manager. The position will require some record keeping, dealing with the public and possible involvement in programs including Conservation Holidays. 


QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:
*	TLC is seeking an energetic self-starter, ideally with experience working in the construction and/or maintenance of buildings, and with knowledge of carpentry and plumbing.
*	Excellent interpersonal skills 
*	Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
*	Experience with basic tool maintenance including power tools
*	An interest in environmental or heritage conservation
*	Basic computer skills (i.e. basic spreadsheet, word processing, email)

Assets:
*	Gardening & landscaping experience
*	Previous experience working with volunteers


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
*	A valid driver's licence is required, access to a vehicle for work purposes is provided.
*	A benefits package is offered after a qualifying period of one year.
*	Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
*	The position is full time, but can provide some flexibility in work hours.
*	Some travel on Vancouver Island will be required.
