    Changes at the Museum



    There have been some changes in Museum's Board of Directors.  

    Long-time President, Dot Harinen felt it necessary to pass the
    leadership torch to Dianna Brown.  Trustee, Wayne Beggs will
    assume Dianna's position as Vice-president.

    We wish Dianna and Wayne well in their new positions and thank 
Dot
    very much for her dedication and hard work for the Museum over the
    years



    CELEBRATE HERITAGE WEEK IN PORT MOODY
    February 18-24, 2008







    Heritage Week is celebrated each year throughout British Columbia
    during the third week of February.  This year, the theme for
    Heritage Week is "Taking Care of Business: the Heritage of Trade
    and Commerce".   The Port Moody Heritage Society and the Port
    Moody Heritage Commission have worked together to organize the
    following events to celebrate Heritage Week in Port Moody this
    year.

    HISTORIC PHOTO DISPLAY AT THE GALLERIA

    Port Moody Station Museum invites Port Moody residents to check
    their family photo albums for historic photos of Port Moody and
    surrounding areas.  The Museum would like to copy them for our
    archives and display them at the City Hall Galleria during
    Heritage Week.  There will be prizes for recognizing the top three
    unique and interesting photos. 

    Deadline for submission:  Feb. 13/08

     HERITAGE PHOTO TRIVIA CONTEST AT SELECT BUSINESSES

    Visit the following shops to view historic photos and compete for
    Port Moody's Heritage Photo Trivia contest. Drop off completed
    forms at the Museum by 4pm Feb.  24th.  Prizes!

    HERITAGE CRAFTS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY AT THE 
MUSEUM

    Join us in making Heritage Doll and Animal Crafts - a fun time
    creating old time crafts.

      WALKING TOUR OF MOODY CENTRE AT QUEEN STREET 
PLAZA

    Join Port Moody Station Museums Curator Jim Millar for an
    informative and lively walk through Old Town Port Moody.  Included
    in the tour will be over 15 heritage buildings that have been
    recognized by a bronze plaque for being listed on the Port Moody
    Heritage Register.   Meet Jim at Queens Street Plaza at 1pm -
    Sunday, February 24th.
