Soon, the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art, an initiative of the
Bill Reid Foundation, will open in a purpose-built gallery at 639 Hornby
Street in Vancouver (formerly the Canadian Craft Museum). This gallery
will house and feature the Bill Reid Foundation Collection. The
facility is under a 99 year lease to the City of Vancouver as a cultural
amenity bonus space and the Foundation is the long-term sub-lessee,
having been awarded the space by the City.

The Bill Reid Foundation is the trustee of the Bill Reid Foundation
Collection. The Foundation also carries out other charitable activities
on behalf of other beneficiaries.

We are looking at different governance models as we explore how best to
structure the Gallery and the Foundation. Currently, both Foundation
and Gallery operate as one, with one charitable tax number and one board
of directors.

We welcome advice on good resources or case studies.

Thanks,

Mavis Dixon
