Hi, everyone,
The recent questions about slate pencils has reminded me to send out =
this general query, to all of you who have historic schoolhouses and =
programs in them:
Can you offer any advice and suggestions for a short (say 15-30 minute) =
program that can be run for a group of mixed ages? We are holding an =
Anne of Green Gables event in August, which will include a day in the =
life of Anne - the schoolhouse scene, the Sunday school picnic, more =
mundane chores like laundry. We have room in our little schoolhouse for =
about 15 students, and I'm trying to put together a lesson that can be =
taught shortly before our Anne cracks her slate over Gilbert's head.
Also, does anyone know where I can track down general store prices from =
about 1880 - 1885? (Just how much did Matthew pay for those twenty =
pounds of brown sugar, for example?) Our newspapers only go back as far =
as 1908.
Thanks!
Tammy
(And, if you're in the area, feel free to join us - August 14-16!)
