Contact: Morag Wehrle, Exhibits and Programs Coordinator
T: 604.541.2222 E: whiterockprograms@telus.net

For Immediate Release

July 28, 2008

"Weird and Wonderful White Rock"
opens at the White Rock Museum + Archives

What extraordinary treasures are hiding in the White Rock Museum + Archives?
Join us for a view of the stranger side of our history as we bring out
rarely seen items from our vaults. Wonder about the functions of mysterious
medical gadgets, take a peek at some blush-worthy unmentionables, and
discover the forgotten history of midget wrestling. It's all part of weird
and wonderful White Rock!

Join us for a gala celebration of the exhibit on Thursday, August 14 from 6
to 8 pm. Enjoy live music, refreshments, and a chance to chat with museum
staff about the making of the exhibit. Admission is by donation. Weird
and Wonderful White Rock runs from August 2 to November 14, 2008.

The White Rock Museum + Archives is located at 14970 Marine Drive, in the
old train station on the waterfront. It is a community organization serving
residents of and visitors to White Rock. Our mandate is to collect,
preserve, research, interpret and exhibit White Rock's heritage, both past
and present.
