Cowichan Bay Maritime Museum is looking for two summer students.
We have two opportunities for an 8 week position running from July 6, 2008
through to August 30, 2008 and are funded through Young Canada Works in
Heritage Organizations. The ideal candidate will be enrolled at a University
or College in a related discipline, or a senior high school student
intending to enter a related field. The candidate must be able to work both
independently and in cooperation with others, take direction, exercise
caution and responsibility in their work. Good communication and
interpersonal skills are a must. The candidate should have good computer
skills, experience with graphic design programs would be beneficial. The
candidate should be mature and self-motivated and should have a strong
understanding of the importance of their work. These summer positions will
included various tasks including office work, tours for the public, helping
with events and the daily operation of the Cowichan Bay Maritime Centre,
including opening and closing duties. The ideal candidate must be available
on weekends. This is a Young Canada Works position and candidates must
register with YCW.
Hours:
30 hours per week (we are open 7 days a week-shifts will vary)
Salary:
$12.00 per hour
