HI Nancy, I have an HR background along with museums. A typical
nepotism policy would be flexible to accommodate a variety of situations.
Usually scripted something like: "To ensure all employees are treated
fairly, individuals in family and/or conjugal relationships are not to
be in direct reporting relationships without written approval from
Director/President etc... "
If a relationship develops between individuals at work it is expected
that the relationship be reported and either permission is granted or a
person is moved to a position that is not in direct reporting relationship.
