Director of Development and Public
Management
The Director of Development and Public Management for Visual Arts
Studios will be responsible for providing the strategic management and
leadership for the Studio.
This will mean closely co coordinating projects with our cultural
partners in Canada, with external bodies to identify and maximize
business opportunities, public visibility and media opportunities in all
sectors of our operations.
The director will build relationships within the key stakeholders
groups, while identifying media opportunities in private and public
sector s and will initiate coordinate development of projects, marketing
and communications in Canada, the United States and overseas. The
candidate will provide high-level support to the overall direction and
development of the studio operations, its practices and support for its
continuing projects. They will over see the resource and capacity
development of the studio and be an accountable manager for all aspect
of the studios public engagements and operations.
The Director will have at least three years work experience in
management and marketing, public relations and strategic development.
Relevant degrees and professional experience are required.
This is and environment where creativity and business overlap….
The candidate must have a proven track record in motivating and
engagement at the public level and be familiar with new media
opportunities including the Internet, print and other broadcast media.
Previous experience in marketing and dealing with the media would be
highly desirable.

The work environment is populated by a team of highly acknowledged

projects. The studio is set 20 minuets from down town Victoria on an
