*DECEMBER 2008 MARKS THE 150^TH ANNIVERSARY OF ST. ANN'S CHAPEL!*

Join us in December for a month of celebration in honour of the 150^th 
anniversary of the building of the chapel at St. Ann's Academy.

    * "Tidings of Comfort and Joy:  Sounds of the Season" is a series of
      four Sunday one hour long afternoon concerts in St. Ann's Historic
      Chapel.  Admission is $12 per concert, $10.00 for seniors or
      students, or $36.00 adult, $30.00 seniors/students for the
      series.  Tickets are available at the St. Ann's Academy office.

·       Nov. 30 at 2 pm---Madd Regaeles' Muse--- A Renaissance twist on 
the season
·       Dec. 7 at 2 pm---"Joy to the World---a Celebration" featuring 
organist Steven Benson & Friends and audience sing-a-long

      1       Dec 14 at 2pm---Harpist Alison Vardy and trio "Hope
      Rising" featuring seasonal music with a celtic flair

·       Dec 21 at 2 pm---Sounds of the Season with Classical Guitarist 
Brad Prevedoros

    * On December 20, join St. Ann's staff for free guided tours of the
      beautifully restored 1858 Chapel at 1pm and 3pm.  Tours will focus
      on the artwork and religious symbolism as well as the unique
      construction methods and the chapel's journey to its present
      location.  Includes behind the scenes tours of areas normally
      off-limits to the public.  Reservations are recommended as space
      on the tours is limited.

    * Starting November 30, the Chapel will be decorated with the
      traditional Nativity painting created in 1900 by St. Ann's Academy
      Art Teacher, Sister Mary Osithe. The Nativity scene also features
      a wax baby Jesus dating from the late 19^th century and cascading
      poinsettias to further set the scene.  St. Ann's Academy will also
      be decked out for the holidays indoors and out!

    *  "The Giving Tree" will be on display in the Sisters' Parlour. 
      Drop by with non-perishable food items, unwrapped toys or new and
      used clothing to place under the tree for distribution to local
      charities until Dec. 20.



The Chapel and Interpretive Centre is open winter hours 1-4pm Thursday 
to Sunday.  Admission by donation.
