*New Director for Irving K. Barber Learning Centre*
UBC Library is pleased to announce that Sandra Singh has accepted the
directorship of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre
(www.ikebarberlearningcentre.ubc.ca
<http://www.ikebarberlearningcentre.ubc.ca/>). She joins the Learning
Centre and the Library's senior management team on November 1, 2008.
Currently, Singh is the Director of Systems and Special Projects at the
Vancouver Public Library. She brings extensive experience in public
engagement and the public library sector to the Learning Centre, having
worked at public libraries in Vancouver, Port Moody, Calgary and
Abilene, Texas.
She is also no stranger to the University of British Columbia, where she
completed her undergraduate degree and her Master of Library and
Information Studies.
We look forward to Sandra's arrival and to an exciting future for her
and the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre.
