Sto:lo Host BC150 Rivermania
Honouring the Fraser River and uniting the communities that line its
banks is a rewarding job, and Chilliwack's Paula Cranmer-Underhill is up
to the challenge.=20
"We're very excited about BC150 Rivermania," said Cranmer-Underhill.
"Over 200 people are expected to take part in our local celebrations on
Sept. 19 and 20."
BC150 Rivermania events began in Prince George on Aug. 24 and will end
in Steveston on Sept. 28, which is also B.C. Rivers Day. A traditional
Sto:lo welcome at the Shxwh=E1:y First Nation Smokehouse will kick off =
the
Chilliwack events.

"Feastivals" Celebrate BC150
Sher Hackwell loves B.C., the province she has always called home, and
she is passionate about the importance of farmers' markets. She was a
perfect fit for a job that promotes both.=20
Hackwell, the BC150 market coordinator for the BC Association of
Farmers' Markets, has spent the summer facilitating BC150 "feastival"
events across the province. Markets were invited to celebrate the food,
people and culture of their communities by hosting feastivals throughout
the 2008 market season. While some of the events have already taken
place, there are still a couple of BC150 celebrations to look forward
to.
