A New Museum for North Vancouver
North Vancouver Museum and Archives is pleased to announce that it is seeki=
ng public input on the vision for a new museum in North Vancouver, and that=
a study to determine the feasibility of this new museum is now underway.
The new museum, which will replace the existing museum galleries in the Pre=
sentation House Arts Centre, will focus on North Vancouver - it will not be=
affiliated with the National Maritime Centre. North Vancouver Museum and A=
rchives seeks to create a museum that is widely supported and of broad rele=
vance to the community in North Vancouver.
In late June and July, the Museum and Archives will be holding open houses =
in the District and the City of North Vancouver to educate the public about=
this project, present some of the concepts that have begun to emerge from =
the study and to offer opportunities for public input. At open houses on th=
ree different dates and locations, members of the public will have opportun=
ities to view presentation boards, offer ideas, and talk with the project c=
onsultants and the museum director.
Open houses will be held at the following dates and times:
* Monday, June 29 (5 p.m. to 9 p.m.)
North Vancouver City Library (120 W 14 St., Main floor, Child=
ren's Program Room)
* Monday, July 6 (5 p.m. to 9 p.m.)
Parkgate Branch Library (3675 Banff Crt., Enid Dearing Meetin=
g Room)
* Thursday, July 9 (5 p.m. to 9 p.m.)
Capilano Mall (935 Marine Dr., Central Court)
The presentation panels will also be available for public viewing on Saturd=
ay, June 27, and Sunday, June 28, at the NV City Library (120 W 14 St.) and=
on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, at the Lynn Valley Main Library (=
1277 Lynn Valley Road).
All interested parties are invited to attend an open house or to view the d=
isplay panels when they are on exhibit in the City and District Libraries. =
Feedback Forms will also be available for pick up if you would prefer to pr=
ovide comments in writing.
