[BCMA] Executive Director retires from the Kelowna Art Gallery

David Bond, President of the Board of Directors of the Kelowna Art
Gallery, would like to announce to the wider community that our
Executive Director, Dona Moore, has decided to retire from her position
in the spring of 2010. Dona Moore has been Executive Director of the
Gallery since 2000, and previously was Head of Education. During her
tenure as Director, Moore oversaw an organization that became known
nationally for its stability and excellence in both exhibitions and
programs. 

 

Moore says, "During my years at the Gallery, I have had the privilege of
working with many outstanding staff people and Board members, and I am
confident I am leaving my successor with a great staff team and a Board
that has a clearly defined vision for the future."

 

Board President David Bond says, "Dona has done an outstanding job of
raising the Gallery's profile within the national, regional and
provincial arts communities as well as with the Gallery's federal,
provincial and municipal grant funders. Additionally in October of this
year, under Dona's leadership, the Galley was the recipient of the
Kelowna Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards in the category
of Community Impact Award. Dona has been a wonderful representative for
the Gallery during her tenure, and will be very much missed."

 

Dona will continue in her position as Executive Director until the
Kelowna Art Gallery Annual General Meeting on April 6, 2010.
