Subject: [BCMA] Sequencing for building a new museum

Hello Colleages,

The Osoyoos Museum is in desperate need of a new facility.

We have formed a committee to consider possible sites, naming, vision and so
forth and hope to have a "broad brush strokes" document to present to Town
council sometime in late January.

I dont expect we will be able to produce a name or unique vision for the
museum or heritage center in such a short time, but a broad plan will help
to get us off the "back burner" at the council level.

The question is about sequencing. Where do we go from here? We have decided
on site preferences - land that is publically owned so there will be no
purchase cost, but then what?

How do you decide what your space requirements will be? When does Visioning
come into it?

I have been told we will also require a CCI environmental assessment for our
artifacts. Where does that fit into the time frame?

We don't have a site or plans for a building - what is the best time to
start local fundraising for a major capital project of this nature?

I would appreciate any help or suggestions from those of you have gone
through this process. I understand there is a lot to it. You may email me
directly - pepper at vip.net

Thanks!! Your help and ideas are appreciated. Gayle Cornish, Osoyoos Museum
