*EVENT COORDINATOR -- Art Gallery of Greater Victoria*
 
Working with the Director of Development, the Event Coordinator's 
primary goal is raising awareness and funds by coordinating and 
implementing a variety of internal and external events for the 
advancement of the gallery's artistic, gallery services and development 
programs. The position works with all departments of the gallery as well 
as the public, and must excel in organization, communication and 
technical skills to meet the demands of a high-output office.  Good 
general health and ability to support event set-up and takedown on some 
occasions will be required. This full-time position requires regular 
evening and weekend work.
 
The AGGV requires an events specialist with experience in coordinating 
and implementing both program-related and fundraising-related events, 
ideally in a not-for-profit arts environment. This includes the 
coordination of two major fundraising events annually. The position also 
coordinates all internal and external bookings including managing all 
facility rentals (corporate groups, weddings, etc.). Experience building 
relationships with volunteers, members, donors, clients, sponsors and 
suppliers is preferred.
 
*Qualifications*
 

    * Bachelor's degree in Event/Project Management, Public Relations,
      Not-For-Profit/Fundraising Management or Marketing and
      Communications, or relevant experience combined with a diploma or
      certificate in a related field.
    * Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office
      Suite, internet and database functionality and use.
    * 2 -- 5 years experience in coordinating and implementing events. 
      Fundraising event coordination highly preferred.  Experience
      working in the not-for-profit arts sector an asset.
    * Project budget planning and monitoring experience
    * Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    * Ability to multi-task inter-departmentally and onsite at events
    * Experience managing event staff and volunteers
    * Ability to work independently and in stressful situations
    * Knowledge of the Greater Victoria event, hospitality and service
      sector
