Museum Coordinator

 

The Bella Coola Valley Museum Society is looking for an enthusiastic detail
oriented individual to assist with the daily functions of the museum.  This
is a fulltime position from June 2 - September 5, 2010.

 

Wage: $12.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Place: Bella Coola Valley Museum

Deadline for Applications: May 15, 2010

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

*      Inform visitors about local history and museum exhibits

*      Assist with enhancing current museum displays

*      Conduct presentations to school groups

*      Operate a small gift store

*      Light indoor and outdoor maintenance

*      Assist with local advertising

*      Accession artifacts

*      Additional duties may be required by the supervisor

 

Qualifications:

*      Completed first year of college/university and planning to attend in
the fall

*      Work well independently

*      Fluent in English

*      Excellent oral and written skills

*      Excellent interpersonal skills

*      Experience with sales and dealing with the public

*      Driver's license, Class 5

*      Good computer skills

*      Experience working with children is an asset

*      Must be between the age of 16 and 30 years of age, be a full-time
student and planning to return to school in the Fall.
