STUDENT JOB OPPORTUNITY

Bella Coola Valley Museum Society

 

Assistant Archivist

 

The Bella Coola Valley Museum Society is looking for a detail oriented
individual to assist with the daily functions of the archives and some
museum related duties.  This is a fulltime position from July 1 - September
6, 2010.

 

Wage: $10.50 per hour, 35 hours per week

Place: Bella Coola Valley Museum

Deadline for Applications: June 2, 2010

 

 

Responsibilities:

*Assist with collection management tasks

*Assist with bringing finding aids up-to-date

*General maintenance tasks

*Conduct research to enhance museum displays

*Assist Museum Coordinator when necessary

*Additional tasks may be required by the supervisor

 

Qualifications:

*Work well independently and with a team

*Willingness to take initiative 

*Excellent written and oral communication skills

*Excellent interpersonal skills

*Good computer skills

*Enrolment or interest in Archival Studies, History or a related area is an
asset

*Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, be a full-time student
and planning to return to school in the Fall.
