Britannia Project: Update
As progress continues, work centers around three of our buildings which will be ready for visitors August 2010. Future visitors will purchase tickets at the First Aid building (circa 1914), then explore the new Beaty Lundin Visitor Centre which houses a new theatre with modern mining exhibits, an amazing sculpture of objects made from mined materials and of course, our brand new Gift Shop. In the 1912 Administration building see the new A-Z Of Britannia Exhibit. 

It is amazing to see so much happening in such a short time period. The First Aid building has new foundation and floor and the walls have been reinforced. New siding and windows are on their way. The Visitor Centre has been gutted down to the cement bricks, foundation and new walls are going up and massive steel posts have been set in place with a crane just this week. The exterior is being prepared for some stunning copper cladding. 
The Administration building has been relocated to its new spot and our Curatorial team is very excited as the walls are being painted and new exhibits will occupy the space within the coming weeks.

The Sea to Sky Singers in the Mill! 
 Image <http://img-ak.verticalresponse.com/media/f/f/7/ff764430ec/2652dad39b/8e668ac0d9/image1.jpg> The Sea To Sky Singers present "Deep Longing" an eclectic program directed by Veronica McPhee featuring jazz, folk, and Canadian songs all about longing; longing for someone, longing for travel, longing for other places, and longing for riches. Stephen Chatman’s Songs of a Prospector, take us deep into the heart of a BC pioneer and miner. Light the Flame, by Squamish composer, Joanna Schwarz, is sure to strike gold with local audiences. Colleen Koop accompanies the ensemble on piano.
Friday May 7th at 7:30pm in our historic Mill Building. 
Tickets are available at Billie's Bouquet or Highland Video in Squamish or at the door. Adults are $12 and Students/ Seniors are $10. Please dress warmly.
