[BCMA] Tuesday night Heritage Resource Management course at UVic

The Cultural Resource Management Program would like to let you know that a course in Heritage Resource Management (HA487A) <https://www.uvcs.uvic.ca/aspnet/Course/Detail/?code=HA487A002> , will be held on Tuesdays, 5 to 8 pm, from September 14 to November 30, on campus at the University of Victoria.

Historic places - structures, buildings, groups of buildings, districts, landscapes or other places of heritage value - are integral to the identity and sense of place of our communities. By identifying, conserving and celebrating these places, we build stronger communities. This course develops your understanding of historic places, methodologies and principles of conservation, and approaches that support their continuing use and contribution to community identity. It introduces conservation as a management process, including understanding organizational and legal frameworks, evaluating and documenting the significance of historic places, assessing and mitigating challenges to retaining significance, developing conservation strategies, and planning for community revitalization and economic development through historic place conservation and celebration.

Registration Information

-          The course fee is $476.61, plus the cost of the textbook, "The Heritage Reader", which is purchased directly from the UVic bookstore.

-          Another option is that you may take this course for credit and apply it as a core course in the Diploma in Cultural Resource Management<https://www.uvcs.uvic.ca/aspnet/Program/Detail/?code=CULRESMNG> program.
