Good morning

I just returned to the position of temp curator after being away for 6 months and when I returned I noticed this email. I imagine you have given these treasures to some other museum at this time, if not I am interested and will be going through Quesnel in 2 weeks. We have a small replica of a school house in our heritage park thanks to a special lady who donated funds,

Thank you

Gail

Hi Maryann

I just wanted to let you know that I have a box of schoolbooks packed up for you, mostly readers and spelling books from the 1950s. If anyone is up in this area they could pick them up at the museum. I am hoping to take a bit of time off in early August, so there is a possibility that I could drop them off on my way south. I will email again when I know the dates I will be traveling. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you on this, but the school programs are now done for the year and the new exhibits are installed so I am back picking up the pieces!

Hi

We would be very interested in receiving these school books

We have a 1930 one room school house on our heritage site

it is the old 1932 mile one room school .

Our books are very limited and they would be used only for display.

please visit our web page and see the one room school as it looks today,

The Quesnel Museum has been offered a rather extensive collection of Primary School Books used from the 1940s to 1980s. ( Approx 140 cm) They are primarily readers (including teachers manuals, and related exercise books) and other language arts. They have been used in the school system so most are only in fair to good condition. They are beyond the scope of our collection, but I promised to check if any other institution would be interested. We would be prepared to break them up if someone needed to fill some gaps in a collection. Please contact me for more details.
