Synopsis: George Bowering grew up in Oliver, and graduated from South
Okanagan High School. Since then, he has risen to be one of the most notable
and prolific authors in Canadian history. Shortly, he will publish his 100th
book, a virtually unheard of publishing success. He has received some of the
highest honours that Canada has to offer. Throughout his body of work,
however, Mr. Bowering has included references to themes, events, people and
places in and around Oliver. Studying his life can serve as a model for
young authors.
