Addictions: illness, disease or just irresponsible behaviour?

What is an addiction and why does there seem to be more of them than ever before?  Is treating them a personal, family or social responsibility?

January 23    "The Shadbolts"

This is a fabulous opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the Centre's namesakes. Join Burnaby Art Gallery Director and Curator, Darrin Martens, on a guided tour of the recently acquired paintings by Jack Shadbolt displayed throughout the building and hear about the vast contribution to Canada's cultural life made by Doris Shadbolt. The tour will be followed by a hands-on painting workshop led by artist, Judith M. Atkinson in the atrium. Tour begins at 11:45.

 

January 27&28    Mom's the Word: Remixed

James Cowan Theatre, Shadbolt Centre

They're back! The shockingly funny moms reunite to bring you the highlights from the smash hits Mom's the Word and Mom's the Word 2: Unhinged. In this premiere production they'll share their true, intimate tales of the heartache and joy of parenthood.
