Greetings everyone,

I just spoke with the exec. Director of The Real Estate Foundation of British Columbia and they have launched a new wage subsidy program which could be a very good fit for non-profit heritage sites that want to hire co-op students this summer.

Some highlights;
* for non-profits only
* must support a project related to land use, e.g. heritage programs, agriculture, land remediation
* grant pays up to $5000 for salaries based on matching funds and other subsidies
* employers must submit their applications by March 1

If the program is successful this summer it may be extended in the years ahead.

I've attached a PDF outlining the program. It includes a 1-page application form (simple!) - which can also be obtained by clicking on "Real Estate Foundation Student Employment Bursary" on their home page: http://www.refbc.com/

You do not need to indentify the student you will hire before you gain access to these funds. However, I urge you to email me your job description "subject to funding" so that students can send you their applications and you can immediately begin interviewing candidates if your application is successful.

Enjoy the sun!

Cheers,

Don Bailey
