FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Police Museum Announces Online Design Contest

Vancouver (July 15, 2010) - The Vancouver Police Museum is announcing its
first-ever design contest to help generate compelling new ideas for its gift
shop.

"Over the past few years, the kind of people visiting the museum has changed
significantly, but our gift shop products haven't," says Chris Mathieson,
Executive Director at the Vancouver Police Museum. "Brandy snifters, golf
shirts and logoed ashtrays just aren't as popular as they used to be."

The premise of the contest is easy: design a shirt relating to the museum
that people would actually want to buy. Until July 30, 2010, all designs
submitted will be posted online and will be subject to a popular vote. The
entries with the most votes will each receive a prize from the prize pool. A
second round of judging, by expert panel, will determine which design(s) the
museum will start selling, based on which will be easiest to print, is the
most creative and best reflects the character of the museum.

Gathering submissions won't be a problem, thanks to the kind support of
Strutta, a Vancouver-based company that provides online platforms for
running contests of this kind. "Strutta's tools, along with our own large
social media community, will help us reach a lot of people quickly and make
their participation easy," says Mathieson. "And, sometimes, being one of the
most-followed museums in Canada on Twitter can be really useful."

There are a variety of prizes available including a "Tourist in Your Own
Town" attractions-pass package from the Vancouver Attractions Group, a $275
package from Axiom Spa and Salon (www.axiombeauty.com), historical photos
package from local blog Miss 604 (www.miss604.com) and a portrait sitting
worth $475 from the award-winning Blue Olive Photography
(www.blueolivephotography.com). The Listel Hotel (www.thelistelhotel.com)
and the Vancouver Trolley Company (www.vancouvertrolley.com) have also been
kind enough to contribute prizes.
