We are looking into adding some video to our website so I have been asking
some of our tech volunteers for feedback. I have been told that You Tube is
the best way to go. Since You tube stores the video for you, you don't have
to have the software or video on your server and it uploads much more
quickly for viewers. If you have ever gone to a site where it takes forever
for the video to load, it is probably because it is stored on their server.
I've also been told that You Tube software is very easy to use.
Hope that helps.

Subject: [BCMA] Using YouTube
We are in the process of developing an online educational component to
compliment our "Bedaux Expedition" virtual exhibit. We will need to attach
clippings from the expedition's film footage as part of the lesson plans.
It seems we have two alternatives : purchase video software for our web page
or use YouTube links.
The latter sounds daunting for a non techy but does seem to be the modern
and cheaper way to go.
Could someone offer me advice on the why's and wherefore's please before I
jump in at the deep end? J
Thanks. Rosaleen
