RAYMOND VERDAGUER
FREE LECTURES and EXHIBITION
WORKING UNDER PRESSURE/THE NEW YORK TIMES COMMISSIONS

Former Vancouverite turned New York-based illustrator Raymond Verdaguer is giving two free talks in conjunction with his shows of linocuts, The New York Times Commissions, on until October 24 at both the Bob Prittie and McGill Libraries in Burnaby.  The prints cover such diverse topics as the conflict in Darfur, the Haitian earthquake, medical research and the environment.

Verdaguer will discuss various aspects of 'Working Under Pressure' for publications such as the Times, Harpers Magazine, The Wall Street Journal and International Herald Tribune, among many others.  The illustrated lectures will cover both the art and the relationship between the artist and the media in today's world.  A question and answer session will follow each talk.

The talks are as follows:
