A talk with Randi Winter

Thursday October 28, 7-8:30pm

Room 2205, SFU Vancouver, 515 West Hastings Street

Randi Winter’s talk will include the following videos relating to
*Norman H. Gershman’s* BESA project:

The story of The Besa Project- Muslims Who Saved Jews During WWII
through Norman Gershman's photographs-narrated by Norman Gershman
Interview with Norman Gershman, Interview with Fritzie Weitzman (11
members of her family were rescued by King Zog of Albania.)

Untold stories about specific historical periods like the Holocaust are
always the most fascinating when tempered with the passage of time and
interpreted through the filter of the current global issues that are
important to us individually and collectively. Norman H Gershman's
ethnographic photojournalism provides personal and historical insight
into the understanding of those issues.

*Randi Winter* has been involved as a Director of The Eye Contact
Foundation, founded by Norman H Gershman to promote the values of
religious, political, cultural and economic understanding and tolerance.
The foundation fosters the use of portrait photography to bring together
people of radically diverse backgrounds and beliefs. Randi Winter is
Vancouver-based but has travelled to Israel, Albania and Kosova and has
assisted in research for the upcoming movie called ‘BESA: The Promise’.

No reservations are required for this talk.
