Swimming the River, A Panel Discussion with Gu Xiong

Catalogue Launch at 7:00 pm

 

In conjunction with the exhibition, /Waterscapes/, by Vancouver artist 
Gu Xiong, Richmond Art Gallery presents, /Swimming the River/, a panel 
discussion. The discussion will examine what happens when large numbers 
of people move around the world. What are the implications? What are 
some of the local and global transformations that are taking place?

 

Panellists include; *Gu Xiong* Artist, Associate Professor of Fine Arts 
University of British Columbia, *Dr. Glenn Deer *Professor, Department 
of English University of British Columbia, *Parm Grewal *Executive 
Director Richmond Multicultural Concerns Society and *Justin Tse* Ph.D 
student, Department of Geography University of British Columbia.
