The Vernon Public Art Gallery celebrates Culture Days with Artist Demonstration by 

Susan Richards of Studio 410

Why:                                       To support and showcase local jeweler Susan Richards.and to support BC Culture Days!



VPAG Hours:                          Mon-Friday: 10am-5pm, Saturdays: 11am-4pm

 

To celebrate B.C.'s Culture Days, the Gallery is pleased to present an Artist Demonstration by Susan Richards.  Susan is a local, self-taught artist who uses found and recycled objects to create her unique pieces.  We will have a selection of Richards' pieces for perusal and purchase.  "Celebrate the arts with us by stopping by the Gallery to see Susan's creative process in action!  Her jewellry is very popular with our Gallery Shop clientele." - Dauna Grant (Executive Director)    

 

Susan Richards - Artist Statement

I like to believe my art is an eclectic mix of classic and contemporary styles.  

My jewellery has been described as an "interesting mix of rustic and really eye catching gorgeous" and "the perfect, imperfect piece".  I love the shaping of the actual metal and incorporating found objects into my work, be it old silver spoons, beach stones or vintage beads, which makes for many one of a kind pieces.  Most of my work is oxidized to bring out the beauty of the metal and give it that vintage look, reflecting the inspiration from which it came.
