Increase your organization's readiness and capacity to fundraise
through this one-day interactive workshop.
This session builds your understanding of the role of fundraising within organizations, examines fundraising activities in the current economic climate and familiarizes you with a range of tools available to assist your organization in fundraising. Strategies for marketing and communications as well as engaging constituents in the mission of the organization are also explored. Through this workshop, you will also consider human and financial resources in addition to board development as key elements in developing realistic fundraising strategies. Current trends in philanthropy will be discussed in relation to the economic realities of the past few years.
This session is designed for both staff and volunteer board members of heritage, arts and culture organizations, foundations, historical societies, local government agencies as well as managers of cultural facilities and historic sites.
Registration Deadline:  Monday, June 13, 2011.  Late registrations accepted if space permits.
Fee:  CAD $173 (including tax, resource materials and text).  Payment due upon registration.
Facilitator
Judy Oberlander is a fundraising, heritage and education consultant, and principal of Judy Oberlander and Associates Inc., based in Vancouver.  Educated in Columbia University and New York University, she established her own firm in 1989 after working at the Heritage Canada Foundation and Commonwealth Historic Resource Management Ltd.  She was the founding Director of the City Program at Simon Fraser University in downtown Vancouver, and has won two National Awards of Excellence from the Canadian Association of University Continuing Education, as well as three City of Vancouver Heritage Awards. She has served on the boards of the Association for Preservation Technology and ICOMOS Canada.
